Susan Brasch, painter

Susan’s work will be featured in the Columbus Art Gallery from June 11th thru August 9th 2018.

Artist statement and short bio:

As I look back over my career, I see many different types of series.  As a painter, I have explored many avenues from abstract/abstract expressionism to somewhat realism to highly realistic. I have different eras of painting projects used to illustrate and to experiment with the theme that I was interested in at the time.  This show will be a smattering of this work over time, showing some to the many themes and subjects I painted in the last 30 years: Tessellations, Aerial Landscapes, Glyphs, Trees, Deep Shade Gardens, and my present abstracts.

As an artist, I have exhibited in galleries locally, regionally, throughout the USA, South America, and Europe.  I have always valued my diversity in media and theme and the use of metaphor. My interest in variety and experimentation translated to my workshops, helped me as an artist-in-residency in the schools and communities with the Nebraska Arts Council (1987-2012); and presently, is utilized in my Joint-Venture Art Program, where I create art commissions for private and corporate clients with the client’s input.

My work has been in 24 solo and traveling shows, featured in 297 juried and group shows and I have created 205 corporate and private commissions. My artwork regionally is in MONA, Doane College Rall Gallery, and many private and corporate collections.  I am pleased to be showing in Columbus this summer and hope that you find something in this variety of work worthy of your viewing time. Thank you.
