Fall Art Crawl 2017

Come and join us for the first ever ART CRAWL! Sponsored by the Columbus Arts Council.

Mingle with art-loving patrons and enjoy complimentary beverages and light hors d’oeuvres at each stop. Participants choose their beginning location, following maps which will be provided, and determine the time spent at each stop.

The 2017 Art Crawl is a new event featuring five art spaces in the area to watch artists at work and tour their studios. Get a behind the scene look into their artistic process and have the opportunity to purchase original art.

This years FEATURED Studios:
• The Pottery Place (Several Local Potters)
• Columbus Arts Gallery (Skyscape Exhibit)
• Oxbow Rustic Furniture (Aaron Rerucha)
• Barcel Bronze (Joslyn Barcel-Tate)
• Art By the Lake (Amy Tomasevicz)

Tickets may be purchased at the Columbus Art Gallery (lower level of the Columbus Library), 1-5 p.m. M – F or at each location upon arrival.

Tickets are required
Gallery Members: $25
Non-Members: $35

Ticket proceeds will go towards sponsoring other events at or facilitated by the Columbus Arts Gallery.

Skyscape Exhibit from Impact (Nebraska) Artists

In Nebraska the sky is always prevalent.

Mysterious, enchantingly beautiful, and at times foreboding, it is inescapably entwined into the fabric of our daily lives.


What might you see when you look . . . into the sky?


Columbus Art Gallery, located on lower level of Columbus Public Library, will host an artist’s reception from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday, September 14th for the Skyscape Exhibit

The reception is open to the public and refreshments will be served. The exhibit will be on display in the gallery from September 5th through November 10th 2017.

Winter Inspiration Art Show Registration


  • Entry Fee; Due at time of entry, $15.00 for first entry and $10 for each additional piece.
  • All work must be original; Works in sculpture, drawing, printmaking, fiber/textile art, collage, painting, mixed media, and photography are eligible.
  • Artwork submitted; Art cannot be a duplication of a published/printed photograph. Artwork cannot be entered if the artist received instructions on the work, or did it wholly or in part in a workshop or classroom.
  • Delivery: Artwork must be delivered completely assembled, wired and ready to hang. Any two-dimensional work using saw tooth hangers will be excluded from the exhibit. Columbus Art Gallery is located in the lower level of Columbus Public Library, 2504 14 th Street, Columbus, Nebraska (Elevator available.).
  • Each Entry: should have a duplicate entry form attached to the back of the artwork. All work must have been completed in the last two years.

Pick Up: Artwork to be picked up after January 5, 2018

DEADLINE: Artwork due November 20, 2017 by 4 p.m. Please no late entries, thank you!

Docents or staff will be in the gallery during open hours. The Arts Gallery is not responsible for any damages incurred to art work before during or after the exhibit.

Missoula Children’s Theatre ” ALADDIN”


The Missoula Children’s Theatre International Tour Project will make stars of kids in grades 1-12. The week long theatre residency provides an opportunity for kids to perform in an original musical comedy complete with costumes, sets, choreography, and lyrics that empower children. A team of Tour Actor/Directors develop and produce a full-scale musical with 50-60 local children as cast members, directors and technical crew. There are roles especially suited for all ages, skill and experience levels. No advance preparation is necessary just come and enjoy the FUN!

Auditions, intensive rehearsals, workshops, and finished performances for the public are all part of the residency. A participation fee of $45.00 for those cast in the production covers the entire week’s residency, the theater workshops, and two adult tickets for the public performances.

Youth wishing to audition must arrive by 10:00 am Monday, July 17 (late arrivals will not be admitted to the audition) and plan to stay for the entire 2 hour audition. Some cast members will be asked to stay for a rehearsal following the audition. There is no guarantee that everyone who auditions will be cast in the performance. Auditions and rehearsals will be held at Federated Church gymnasium, 2704 15th Street in Columbus, and performances will be held at Central Community College Fine Arts Theatre on July 22nd at 3pm and 5:30pm.
